Computer Science Faculty building at Nöthnitzer Straße The summer school is held at the Computer Science Faculty building of Technische Universität Dresden, Nöthnitzer Straße 46, Dresden-Räcknitz, room E023 for lectures and room E001 for coffee-breaks (and registration).

On-site registration

We ask you to register on Sunday between 4 pm and 6 pm in Nöthnitzer Straße 46, room E001. Following you may participate in the guided city tour with visit to a local pub. Another chance for registration, will be on Monday from 8 am till 10 am at the same location.

Weather Information

In this period of the year, the average temperature at daytime in Dresden will be about 21 to 23 degrees. It may be windy; sometimes it rains. However, if there is a longer raining period, the maximum temperature might decrease to about 15 degrees. If you are interested, you may also have a look at some statistical data about the climate in Dresden.

Computing facilities

In the ground floor of the Computer Science building, we provide access to the internet by wireless network. The WLAN standards supported are IEEE 802.11g and 802.11b. The support of WPA-encryption is required on your computer. You will recieve all login information at the beginning of the summer school during on-site registration.

Please note that we are only providing access to the web (HTTP, HTTPs), POP3, IMAP and SSH. Sending e-mails using SMTP and other services cannot be provided. For sending e-mails, please ask your local administrators if tunneling (using SSH) or web-based mail services are available to you.

If you do not bring your own computer, you may use a desktop computer in the computer labs (E031) on the ground floor of the Computer Science building. For an account in the computer labs, you have to register by 1th August 2008 (Please note, that the registration have been closed). In this case, you will receive your personal login information in person when you register on-site at your arrival.

Please note we will not provide any facilities or services for personal printing.
