Michael Schroeder
Michael Schroeder is a Professor in Bioinformatics at the Biotechnology Center of the TU Dresden, Germany.

He focuses on intelligent information integration in bioinformatics covering topics such as consistent information integration using integrity constraints, rules to declaratively specify bioinformatics workflows, integrating reasoning with imperative languages, biomedical ontologies and rules, rule-based agents. The main applications for these techniques are systems and data integration for computational protein interactions and ontology-based literature search.

He has published over 70 articles and manages nationally and EU-funded projects such as BioGrid, GeneStream, AgentCities, and the FP6 Network of Excellence REWERSE, Reasoning on the Web with Rules and Semantics. Before joining TU Dresden, he was a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Computing at City University, London, UK. He carried out his PhD at University of Lisbon and Hanover.
