The national carrier, Garuda Indonesia Airways, provides good connections to Yogyakarta. Other carriers with international flights to Yogyakarta are Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia. All flights arrive at the Adisutjipto International Airport (JOG), which is located on the north-east outskirts of Yogyakarta.


Other alternatives to reach Yogyakarta:

  1. -There are several carriers fly to Indonesia and arrive at the two major international airports in Indonesia: Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) in Jakarta and Ngurah-Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar (Bali). Amongst these carriers are Lufthansa, KLM, AirFrance, British Airways, Japan Airlines, Emirates.

  2. -Yogyakarta can be reached from Jakarta by the following domestic carriers: Garuda Indonesia, AirAsia, Lion Air, Mandala Airlines, Batavia Air, Sriwijaya Air.

  3. -Yogyakarta can be reached from Denpasar (Bali) by the following domestic carriers: Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Mandala Airlines, Batavia Air.

  4. -Singapore Airlines, SilkAir and AirAsia have also flights to the Adisumarmo International Airport (SOC) in Solo City, which is approximately 65 km north-east of Yogyakarta.

Visa

The following information should be applicable to get the permission to travel to Indonesia for the participation of the LPAR-17 conference. If you have any doubts, please consult the nearest Indonesian Embassy or Consulate as soon as possible. We can help you with an invitation letter, in case it is needed. For that purpose, please contact us by sending an email to the ICCL secretary, Ms. Julia Koppenhagen.


  1. (A) Nationals of the following countries do not require a visa to enter Indonesia for a visit of up to 30 days:

Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Ecuador, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Malaysia, Morocco, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.


Visitors should be in possession of a valid passport with the minimum validity of 6 months and a return or an onward journey ticket at the time of arrival.


  1. (B) Nationals of the following countries can apply for their short visit visa upon arrival at the airport (visa on arrival) of up to 30 days:

Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Czech Republic, China (PRC), Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Fiji, FInland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Laos, Latvia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Maldives, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Timor Leste, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America.


The fee for a visa on arrival (for a visit of up to 30 days) is USD 25,- which is paid upon arrival at the airport before entering the immigration clearance desk. The fee must be paid in cash (for this reason, please have appropriate USD notes with you). Visitors should be in possession of a valid passport with the minimum validity of 6 months and a return or an onward journey ticket to apply a visa on arrival.


  1. (C) Nationals of countries other than those mentioned in (A) and (B) above are required to apply for a visa in their home country prior entering Indonesia. In this case, please contact the nearest Indonesian Embassy or Consulate for further information.
